Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Sunday chided President Rodrigo Duterte, whom he has accused of corrupt activities, and called him the poorest billionaire in the Philippines. President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Jason Aquino to “ignore” the agency’s policy-making body and push through with the rice importation. President Rodrigo Duterte is set to fire another government official these coming days. Duterte made the announcement during a dinner with lawmakers and Cabinet officials in Pasay City on Thursday. “I’ll be firing about one undersecretary, one after the other. Ubusin ko talaga ‘yan [I will finish them all],” he said. The President did not provide further details. He said he was “dismayed” as corruption activities in government was “unfolding every day.” “As I have said, I’m not perfect. I cannot even compare my term with President Arroyo and I refuse to make comparisons with Aquino. He might have been more, more circumspect than I am,” he said.
